Neurodivergent disabilities aren’t always obvious to managers and peers. They may just fly under our radars. They may be hidden purposefully. They may not even be apparent to those who have them.
But the more we discover about neurodivergence, the more one thing is clear: It’s far more common than we ever thought. Diagnoses of autism, ADHD, PTSD/cPTSD, anxiety, depression, and much, much more are ballooning as we learn more about these conditions — and as social and mental health safety nets start to fray.
But neurodivergents aren’t just their “conditions” or “diagnoses”… they’re valued employees and contributors.
